Dr. April Ervin is a 1987 graduate of the University of Missouri. After moving to Contra Costa County she purchased Ygnacio Animal Hospital in 1994. Dr. Ervin is certified in Penn Hip X-ray technique. Her love for her patients and respect for her clients is evident in her day-to-day practice where she provides the best care possible for her patients. Dr. Ervin lives in the area with her husband and two pre-teen sons.
Dr. Elizabeth Pisanelli is a 1989 graduate of Tuft's University Veterinary School. After completing an internship in Los Angeles, she moved to the Bay Area with her family. She currently lives with her family and an assortment of pets. When Liz is not working or involved with her two children, she rides her beautiful palomino Fox Trotter, Buttercup.
Dr. Valerie Merrill is a 1990 graduate of U.C. Davis Veterinary School. Dr. Merrill grew up in Mt. View, and is a second generation Californian. She enjoys riding the high powered horses we all admire such as Hanoverians, Thoroughbreds and Friesians and owns a lovely English Mastiff dog, Cooper.
Colleen Conley has worked at Ygnacio Animal Hospital for well over 20 years. She began her career here working as a kennel assistant and has graduated to being our Head Technician. Colleen has a beautiful mix breed dog, Dozer and ****. She says she has met a huge variety of animals ranging from tiny mice to the huge 180+ pound dogs.
Jolie Cordle, RVT, has worked in the animal field for more than 11 years. She has worked in emergency settings, private practice as well as animal services. Jolie lives with dogs, cats, a daughter and two parrots. Her personal interests include canine behaviour, Pit Bull temperament and rescue as well as animal advocacy. Her client education skills are well grounded. We at YAH are very fortunate to have Jolie working with us.
At our front desk we have Roland and Sharon as our stabilizing forces behind the practice's day to day operations.
Kelli, our technician assistant is a valuable part of our team and is always a bubbly, happy individual. Kelli's interests include dog training and behaviour as well.
